Question 1023402: Dear Tutor,
True Story: A man in Durham, North Carolina was charged $532.75 for an Uber trip home. Due to demand, Uber was in "surge pricing" at the time. The charge for the first mile was $42.75. Each additional mile was $35.00. How many miles was the trip home?
*I have to provide the equation and the answer i.e. (how many miles the trip home was.)
42.75X + 35.00 = 532.75 Is this how you set up the equation? When I solved for x I got: x = 11.64
Is the equation or the answer correct? If not, how do you set up and solve the equation?
