Can you help me with this problem? I don't quite understand how to do it...
"The tens digit of a two-digit number is two more than twice the units digit. The sum of the digits is 11. Use a system of equations and elimination to find the number."

T + U = 11

T -2U = 2
T + U = 11

and W be the ones digit
The number is of the form TW
T > 2 + 2W , tens digit is two more than twice the units digit
T + W = 11 , the sum of the digits is 11
Solve T + W = 11 for T
add -W to each side
T = 11 - W
Substitute ( 11 - W ) for T in T > 2 + 2W
11 - W > 2 + 2w
add W to each side
11 > 2 + 3W
add -2 to each side
9 > 3W
or 3W < 9
divide each side by 3
W < 3
From this we know that W is 0, 1 or 2
We also know that T = 11 - W
If W is 0, T = 11, but this cannot be since T is a single digit
If W is 1, T = 10, but this cannot be since T is a single digit
This means that W has to be 2
Since T = 11 - W , T = 9
So TW is 92
