That has a typo.  Either the variable is m or x.
I will assuming that the variable should be m:

18mē-18m+4

Factor out GCF 2

2(9m^2-2m+2)

It factors as

2(?m??)(?m??)

where we put in signs and numbers where the
question marks are.

There is only one way to factor the +2 on
the end. as 2 and 1.  So we have

2(?m?2)(?m?1)

Both signs are - since the last sign is +
and the middle sign is -.

2(?m-2)(?m-1)

The remaining two numbers must multiply to
give 9.  They can only be 3 and 3, 9 and 1
or 1 and 9. Experimenting by trial and error
we get that 3 and 3 works.

2(3m-2)(3m-1)

6x^2+7xy-10y^2

There is no common factor.  Since this one
has two variables, we have this:

(?x??y)(?x??y)

and the signs must be opposite since the
