Question 1021835: Hi!
I am so stuck on this question!
A rectangular frame with cross bars is to be made with 100m of angle steel.
The width of the frame is x metres and the length of the frame is p metres.
a. Show that +p=50-%285%2F2%29x+
b. The frame is t be covered (exactly with no waste) by light aluminium sheeting. IF the area of the sheeting is denoted by A m^2, find an expression for A in terms of x.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hi there,
Looking at your problem
I think that your rectangular frame
has 3 cross bars all = x
2p = the two lengths.
5x = 3 crossbars + top and bottom bars
2p + 5x = 100
2p = 100 - 5x
p = 100/2 - 5/2x
p = 50 - (5/2)x
............
I am not sure what the
covering entails, but if
it is just the whole area
this would = p * x (* = times)
Area = p * x
x = A/p
or
p = A/x
Hope this helps, but if not
please come back for more help. :-)
