Question 1020021: From an aeroplane in the air and the horizontal distance of 1050m, the angles of depression of the top and the base of a control tower at an instant are 36 and 41 respectively.
a) illustrate the information on a diagram
b) find the height of the control tower
c) the shortest distance between the aeroplane and the base of the control tower.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In the figure below, the aeroplane is at A.
AH = 1050 m is the horizontal distance.
T = the top of the control tower.
B = the base of the control tower.

We want to find TB, the height of the tower,
and AB, the shortest distance from the aeroplane
to the base of the tower.
