I never use 3.14 for pie; I generally use a nice flaky pastry crust and some sort of fruit filling for pie. I will be happy to use 3.14 for pi, if that is what you actually meant.

The total surface area of a cylinder is

So if the diameter of the base is 8 cm., then the radius of the base is 4 cm.
