You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hi there,
Two number differ by 2
Make one number = 'x'
Other number = 'x + 2'
Three times one number added is
five times the other number gives 46
3(x) + 5(x + 2) = 46
3x + 5x + 10 = 46
3x + 5x = 46 - 10
8x = 36
x = 4.5
One number = 4.5
Other number = 6.5
3(4.5) + 5(4.5 + 2) = 46
3(4.5) + 5(6.5) = 46
13.5 + 32.5 = 46
46 = 46
Hope this helps :-)
