More likely you mean (x+7)/(x-2)<0.

Look for where the left expression is negative or less than 0.
The critical values of x are -7 and +2. The intervals on the x-numberline to check are these:
-infinity%3Cx%3C-7
and
-7%3Cx%3C2
and
2%3Cx%3Cinfinity.

You can pick values inside each interval to check which intervals satisfy and which do not the inequality.
