Question 1019276: For a normally distributed variable with a mean of 10 and standard deviation of 5, what is the proportion of the data with negative values? Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If the data has a mean of 10 and a standard deviation of 5, negative values would be present when they are more than two s.d. away...two s.d. covers 95% of the data...that means 2.5% of the data is negative...
Or if you wanted negative to positive, that would be 2.5 / 97.5 = 1/39.
