Hi there,
Sort out equation into y = mx + c form.
4y+12x=12
4y = -12x + 12
y = -3x + 3
Gradient (Slope) = -3
Lines that are parallel to one
another have equal gradients (Slopes)
Using line equation:
y - b = m(x - a)
Where m = -3
(a,b) = (9,-10)
y - (-10) = -3(x - 9)
y + 10 = -3x + 27
y = -3x + 27 - 10
y = -3x + 17
Hope this helps :-)
