You can put this solution on YOUR website! You want to know the percentage, per-cent comes from per centum and means for every hundred. Thus:
(39/140)*100

Why times 100? Like I said, because you want to know what it is for every hundred.
So, 10% of 100 is 10 but if you buy something for 1, then 10% of 1 is 0.10. When solving problems we do this, we reduce it to 1 because then we can scale it. In other words, 10% of 1 is 0.10, of 2 is 0.20, of 5 is 0.50, of 600 is 60, of 3,000,000 is 300,000 and so on.
