Question 1018941: PLEASE I NEED ANSWERS
1. Solve the following system. Verify the solution.
y = 4x – 11
x = 2y – 13
2.
4. State a favourite strategy for solving a linear system of equations. Provide step-by-step instructions for the chosen strategy such that another Math 10C student could easily follow.
Answer:
5. Describe the advantages of verifying solutions to systems of equations graphically and
algebraically.
6. A system of linear equations can have zero, one, or an infinite number of solutions.
a. Describe a rule that can be used to determine the number of solutions a system of linear
equations will have.
b. Use the base example of two people walking to describe a system of two linear equations that has

You can put this solution on YOUR website! You have x in terms of y and y in terms of x. Substitute for either and solve that way.
You state YOUR favorite method to solve a linear system of equations. How you explain it is your task. Other people cannot do this for you.
Verifying graphically or algebraically:
Seeing a point might be easy to do on a graph, but this is only good for lines of equations that are easy to draw and that give an easily-read intersection point. Sometimes not so good if precision is needed.
Slopes or equivalent equations? If the members of one equation are different from those of another equation by a factor, then the equations are equivalent and have infinitely many solutions in common; as long as these equations are written in the same format. Otherwise, if slopes are the same, then lines are parallel; and if slopes are not the same, then lines meet in exactly one point.
