You can put this solution on YOUR website!
An equation of a line through (1, 2) which is parallel to the line y=-2x+1 has slope: ?
Parallel lines have the same slope , -2 in this case, use the point slope form
y - y1 = m(x-x1)
In this problem x1=1; y1=2 and m = -2
y - 2 = -2(x - 1)
y - 2 = -2x + 2
y = -2x + 2 + 2
y = -2x + 4, is the equation
:
and
y intercept at?
This occurs when x=0, therefore the y intercept = 4
