Distance is rate times time. In this problem, we have two rates and two times to add together for total distance...notice that if the first time is w, the second has to be 11-w...thus
d = 75w + 60(11-w) = 75w + 660 - 60w = 660 + 15w miles

Driving X miles at 75M/H should be shown as
%28X+miles%29%281+hour%2F75miles%29 as the above will give time as a result, i.e %28X%2F75%29+hours
The rest of the trip was
%28Y+miles%29%281+hour%2F60miles%29 as the above will give time as a result, i.e %28X%2F60%29+hours
and
%28%28X%2F75%29+hours%29%2B%28%28Y%2F60%29+hours%29=W
multiply thru by 300
%28%28300X%2F75%29+hours%29%2B%28%28300Y%2F60%29+hours%29=300W

%284X%29%2B%285Y%29=300W

or
%28%284X%29%2B%285Y%29%29%2F300=W
