what is the probability of drawing 3 clubs or a six of diamonds?
-------------------
Those are mutually exclusive events so
P(3 clubs or six of diamonds) = P(3clubs)+P(6 of diamonds)
= 13C3/52C3 + 1/52
= 286/22100 + 1/52
= 0.13 + 0.19
= 0.32

I'm assuming you mean a standard 52 card deck and your question is the probability of drawing either a 3 ClubsP%5B1%5D or 6 Diamonds P%5B2%5Don one draw. The probability of drawing a 3 Clubs alone and the probability of drawing a 6 Diamonds alone are both equalP%5B1%5D=P%5B2%5D=1%2F52. By putting them together, you add their probabilities. So the probability of drawing either a 3 Clubs or 6 Diamonds on one draw is 2/52P%5B3%5D=1%2F52%2B1%2F52=2%2F52.
