You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The slope of x+2y=-6 is found by m = -A/B = -1/2. We need the same slope.
Then we plug into
y = mx + b to find b and get
-2 = (-1/2)(1) + b
so that
b = -3/2
and our equation becomes
y = (-1/2)x - 3/2
