In words:
[ miles / hr ] / [ miles / gallon = [ gallons / hr ]
+40+%2F+20+=+2+ gallons / hr
--------------------------
Now you have to do:
[ gallons / hr ] x [ hrs driven ] = [ gallons used ]
--------------------------
Then do a unit conversion:
[ gallons ] x [ liters / gallon ] = [ liters used ]

How do you set up the equation

1 gallon = 3.785 liters
----
12 hrs at 40 mph = 480 miles
(480 miles)/ (20 miles per gallon) = 24 gallons
24 gallons = 24*3.785 = 90.85 liters
