Question 1017406: Solve systems of equations by graphing?
5x-2y=3
10x-4y=6 Graph

Decide if the system fits one of these choices?
A. The system has a single solution. The solution set is
(Type an ordered pair.)
B.There are infinitely many solutions and the equations are dependent. The solution set is {(x,y)( )}
(Type an equation. Type your answer in standard form.)
C.The system is inconsistent. The solution set is the empty set.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5x-2y=3
10x-4y=6
Rewrite
-2y=-5x+3
y=(5x/2)-(3/2)
-------------
-4y=-10x+6
y=(5x/2)-(3/2)
---------------
These have an infinite number of solutions. The answer if B, and standard form is how the equation appears above.
They are the same equation. The bottom equation is the top one multiplied by 2.

Because the two are the same, you don't want an ordered pair, which is a common point of intersection. You want an equation of a line. The graph shows that line. It is both equations.
