Hi there,
Make the width = x
Length = 2 + x
Perimeter = 2(Width) + 2(Length)
32 = 2(x) + 2(2 + x)
32 = 2x + 4 + 2x
Collect like terms
2x + 2x = 32 - 4
4x = 28
x = 7
Width = 7ft
Length = 9ft
