You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
P=Paul's age; A=Alicia's age=P+102
.
A-2=4(P-2)
A-2=4P-8
A=4P-6
.
P+102=4P-6
P+108=4P
108=3P
36=P
.
ANSWER: Paul is 36 years old.
.
CHECK:
.
A=P+102=36+102=138
.
A-2=4(P-2)
138-2=4(36-2)
136=4(34)
136=136
.

Alicia must eat very healthy!
P = A-102
A-2 = 4(P-2)
A-2 = 4P-8
A = 4P-6
Substitute the known value of P
A = 4(A-102)-6
A = 4A-408-6
A = 4A-414
414 = 3A
A = 138
.
While this is likely impossible, let's plug the numbers in just for kicks.
Paul is 102 years younger than Alicia, who is 138. Therefore Paul is 36.
Two years ago, Paul would have been 36-2, or 34. 4x34 = 136, which is two years younger than Alicia is now.
