You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hi there,
Make Harry's speed on freeway = x mph
Distance = Speed x Time
Freeway distance = 3x
Speed on country road = (x - 20)
Country road distance = 6(x - 20)
Freeway + Country road = 492 miles
3x + 6(x - 20) = 492
3x + 6x - 120 = 492
9x = 492 + 120
9x = 612
x = 612/9
x = 68mph
Speed on freeway = 68 mph
Speed on country road = 48 mph.
Hope this helps :-)
