You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The length of a rectangle is 3 feet less than twice its width and the perimeter is 72 feet. Find the length and the width of the rectangle
-------
length:: 2w - 3
width::: w
-----------------
Equation:
p = 2(length + width)
72 = 2(3w-3)
Divide both sides by 2 to get::
------
3w-3 = 36
width = 13 ft.
length = 2w-3 = 23 ft
--------------
