Than you have an equation

100 - x = 4*(37-x).

Solve it for x:

100 - x = 148 - 4x,

4x - x = 148 - 100,

3x = 48,  --->  x = 48%2F3 = 16.

Answer. 16 years ago.

Check. 100 - 16 = 84;  37 - 16 = 21;  84 = 4*21.  OK.
