Question 1016239: I just learned about logs and I have to expand and evaluate when possible the given logarithmic expressions. I am confused on how to do that. one problem I have is log base 2 to the square root of x dived by y^3...... is there a way you could give me some instruction on how to solve this easily

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log base 2 to the square root of x divided by y^3
log%282%2C%28sqrt%28x%29%29%2Fy%5E3%29%29
Expand, divide means logs are subtracted
log%282%2Csqrt%28x%29%29 - log%282%2Cy%5E3%29
log equiv of exponents, an exponent of 1/2 is the same as the square root
%281%2F2%29log%282%2Cx%29 - 3%2Alog%282%2Cy%29
you can't evaluate, it's not an equation
