Here's a shortcut.
a/b + c/d = (ad + bc)/(b*d) --- product of outside terms + product of inside terms / product of DENs.
----
1/3+3/4 = (1*4 + 3*3)/(3*4)
= 13/12
Saves time. Sometimes you have to reduce.
eg,
2/5 + 3/10 = (2*10 + 3*5)/(5*10)
= 35/50
= 7/10
