You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
For a standard position angle determined by the point (x,y) what are the values of the trigonometric functions?
For the point (16,12) find sin theta and cos theta.
Thank you!
------------------------------------------------------------

Make a sketch.
Draw the coordinate axes on a page: x-axis and y-axis.

It is yours coordinate plane.

Mark the point (16,12) in the plane. On the page, I mean.
It has x-coordinate 16 and y-coordinate 12.

Connect this point with the origin of the coordinate system.
The distance to the point from the origin is sqrt%2816%5E2+%2B+12%5E2%29 = sqrt%28256+%2B+144%29 = sqrt%28400%29 = 20.

Now, cos%28theta%29 = 16%2F20 = 4%2F5,

and sin%28theta%29 = 12%2F20 = 3%2F5.

where theta is what angle? - The standard position angle determined by the point (16,12).
