These problems I have a hard time understanding. Can someone help me figure this one out?
This is what I got so far and I don't know if its right.
x is even consecutive #
x + 2 is next #
x + 4 is next #
And I set up as:
x + (x+2) + x +4 = 60

This is what I got so far and I don't know if its right.
x is even consecutive #
x + 2 is next #
x + 4 is next #
And I set up as:
x + (x+2) + x +4 = 60

x + (x+2) + x +4 = 60 simplify
3x+6=60 subtract 6 from both sides
3x+6-6=60-6 collect like terms
3x=54 divide both sides by 3
x=18--------------------------1st
x+2=18+2=20-----------------------2nd
x+4=18+4=22------------------------3rd

18+20+22=60
60=60
