Call the length of a congruent side x. There are two of those. The third side has length x - 3.
Adding them together gives us
x + x + x-3 = 27
3x - 3 = 27
3x = 30
x = 10 cm
x = 10 cm
x-3 = 7 cm

2x+x-3 = 27
