.
Rob takes 9 hours to clean the attic.
Huong can clean the same attic in 15 hours.
How long would it take if they worked together?
------------------------------------------------
Rob makes 1%2F9 of the job in one hour.
Huong makes 1%2F15 of the job in one hour.
Working together, they make 1%2F9+%2B+1%2F15 = 5%2F45+%2B+3%2F45 = 8%2F45 of the job in one hour.
Hence, it will take 45%2F8 = 55%2F8 hours for Rob and Huong to make the job working together.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Add their rates of working to get their
rate of working together
Rob's rate:
[ 1 attic cleaned ] / [ 9 hrs ]
Huong's rate:
[ 1 attic cleaned ] / [ 15 hrs ]
--------------------------
Let their rate working together =
[ 1 attic cleaned ] / [ t hrs ]
+1%2F9+%2B+1%2F15+=+1%2Ft+
Multiply both sides by +45t+
+5t+%2B+3t+=+45+
+8t+=+45+
+t+=+5.625+
and
+.625%2A60+=+37.5+
Working together, it will take them
5 hrs 37 min 30 sec
