m = 9s
m+3 = 5(s+3)

Substiute for "m" and solve for "s"::
9s + 3 = 5s + 15
4s = 12
Son's age = 3 yrs

Solve for "m"::
m = 9s
Mum's age = 9*3 = 27 yrs
