The perimeter of a rectangle is p=90. 2x is the left side of the rectangle. The top is 6x, the right side has nothing labeled and the bottom has nothing labeled. What is the length of the longest side of the rectangle ?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The opposite sides of a rectangle (of any rectangle) are congruent.
So they have the same length.

Thus the left side has the length 2x, and the right side is 2x.
The top side is 6x long, and the bottom is 6x also.

Therefore, the perimeter is 2x + 6x + 2x + 6x = 16x.

Since 16x = 90, then x = 90%2F16.

Hence, the left side is 2x = 2%2A%2890%2F16%29 = 90%2F8 = 111%2F4. The right side is also 111%2F4 units long.

The top side is 6x = 6%2A%2890%2F16%29 = 270%2F8 = 333%2F4. The bottom side has the same length as the top.

The longest side is 333%2F4 units long.
