Question 1011631: Solve these linear equations algebraically. State the coordinates

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
3x + 5y = 7 (1)
2x + 4y = 6 (2)

Multiply equation (1) by 2. Multiply the equation (2) by -3 and then add.
You will get (after canceling like terms) a single equation for y:

10y - 12y = 14 - 18, or

-2y = -4.

Hence, y = 2. Now from (1) you can find x = %287-5y%29%2F3 = %287-5%2A2%29%2F3 = %287-10%29%2F3 = -3%2F3 = -1.

Answer. x = -1, y = 2.

I didn't solve the system #1, because I am not sure you wrote it correctly.
