You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hi there,
Make the width = 'x'
Length = x + 5
Area of top of table = 104m^2
Area of a rectangle = length x width
104 = (x + 5)x
104 = x^2 + 5x
x^2 + 5x - 104 = 0
Factorise:
(x + 13)(x - 8) = 0
x + 13 = 0
x = -13
Discount as negative value.
x - 8 = 0
x = 8
Width of table = 8m
Length of table = 13m
Hope this helps :-)
