Question 1010093: Hi, I have worked out the following answers two these two questions but I am not sure if they are right? Help would be much appreciated.
1. Express Logx + 4Logy - (1/3)Logz as a single logarithm.
= Logx + Log(y)^4 - ³√z
= Logx (y^4)/(³√z) - Answer
Unsure if the answer should be = Log (xy^4)/(³√z) or the answer above, because in the question it does not specify a base. So I assume its of base 10 and apparently when it's of base 10 it can be written as Logx. Just unsure if its written with a large X next to the log or a small as displayed in the base of the Log?
2. Express Log (Base 3) (9a³/√b) in terms of simple logarithms.
= Log (Base 3)9 + Log (Base 3)a³ - Log (Base 3)√b
= Log (Base 3)9 + 3Log (Base 3)a - 1/2Log (Base 3)b Answer
Unsure if the answer should be
= 9Log (Base 3) + 3Log (Base 3)a - 1/2Log (Base 3)b ?
