Question 1010055: Jill drove 36 miles to her grandmother's house, and it took her 48 minutes total. Jill drove on the highway at a constant speed of 55 miles per hour for half of the time that she was driving. Jill then turned off of the highway and continued driving at a different constant speed for the rest of the trip.
At what constant speed, in miles per hour, did Jill drive for the rest of her trip?
Please break this down for me. Didn't know how to begin. Thank you so much for your help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
She drove half of 48 minutes at 55mph:
55mph(1hr/60min)(24min)=22miles
She drove 22 miles out of 36 miles at 55mph.
The other (36mi-22mi=14 mi)
14 miles took the other half of the time (24 minutes)
(14 mi/24min))(60min/1 hr)=35 mph
