Question 1007838: How many boys are there in an introductory biology course if 425 students are enrolled and there are eight boys to every nine girls? Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Couple of ways to do this...here's one way...
Since the ratio of boys to girls is 8 to 9, we can say that their ratio is also 8x to 9x...when we add those we get 17x...this 17x is the 425 students, so that
17x = 425
x = 25
8x = 200 boys
9x = 225 girls
