Question 10074: Ok...here is a problem that I think I did right, but not sure. Can someone check it for me?
Simplify: (6^3)(6^-5) (x^7)(x^-3)
This is what I did. Not sure if it is right though.
6^3 * 6^-5 = 36^-2
x^7 * x^-3 = x^-21
so my answer was (36^-2)(x^-21)
If this is wrong, can someone show me how they got the answer?
Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Simplify:
%286%5E3%29%286%5E-5%29%28x%5E7%29%28x%5E-3%29
Remember: %28x%5Ea%29%28x%5Eb%29+=+x%5E%28a%2Bb%29 and: x%5E%28-a%29+=+1%2Fx%5Ea
So, you can write:
%286%5E%283-5%29%29%28x%5E%287-3%29%29
%286%5E-2%29%28x%5E4%29
%281%2F6%5E2%29%28x%5E4%29
%28x%5E4%29%2F36
