You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
log (x)+ log (x-2) = log(8) -----> x*(x-2) = 8 ----->

x%5E2+-2x+-+8 = 0.   (1)

Factorize:

x%5E2+-2x+-+8 = (x+2)*(x-4).

So the roots of the equation (1) are x = -2 and x = 4.

The root x = -2 doesn't work because of logarithm . . .

The root x = 4 works well.
