You can put this solution on YOUR website!
d = number of dimes
q = number of quarters

10d + 25q = 285
2q = 4d - 6

Substitute q = 2d - 3 into the first equation.

10d + 25(2d - 3) = 285
10d + 50d - 75 = 285
60d = 360
d = 6

6 dimes were used and 9 quarters were used.
