You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find each value of f(x)=
f(x) = %28x%5E2%2B2x-4%29%2F%28x%2B6%29
1. f(4); all this means is, that you substitute 4 for x in the above expression and find out it's numerical value (evaluate):
f(4) = %284%5E2%2B2%284%29-4%29%2F%284%2B6%29
:
f(4) = %2816+%2B+8+-+4%29%2F10
:
f(4) = 20%2F10 = 2
:
:
2. f(-8); Substitute -8 for x in the given expression
f(-8) = %28-8%5E2%2B2%28-8%29-4%29%2F%28-8%2B6%29
f(-8) = %28%2B64-16-4%29%2F%28-2%29 = 44%2F%28-2%29 = -22

How about this, did it help you understand this? Any questions?
