The window price of a radio is $180. It is sold for $144. Calculate what percentage discount was given.
--------
Quantity discount = 180-144 = 36

Here is the formula for percent difference (can be used for the percentage of a discount)
(accepted value - actual value)/(accepted value) * 100
in short
(180 - 144)/(180) * 100
(36)/(180) * 100
.20 * 100
20 = percent discount
So,
The radio was 20% off from the original price.
