You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve the following problem using system of equations.
How many pounds of nuts selling for $6 per lb and raisins selling for $3 per lb should a person combine to obtain 180 lb of a trail mix selling for $4 per lb.
------------
Equations:
Quantity:: s + t = 180 lb
Value::: 6s +3t = 4*180 dollars
----------------------------
Modify::
s + t = 180
2s+ t = 240
----
Subtract and solve for "s":
s = 60 lb (amt. of $6 nuts needed)
----
t = 180-60 = 120 (amt. of $3 nuts needed)
-------------
