You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A man is now three times old as his daughter.
m = 3d
In twelve years time he will be twice as old as his daughter.
m + 12 = 2(d+12)
m + 12 = 2d + 24
m = 2d + 24 - 12
m = 2d + 12
replace m with 3d
3d = 2d + 12
3d - 2d = 12
d = 12 yrs is daughter's age
then
3(12) = 36 yrs is Dad's age

Check this in the statement
"In twelve years time he will be twice as old as his daughter."
36 + 12 = 2(12 + 12)
