Hi there,
If it takes 4 men to build 2 rooms
It will take 1 man to build 2/4 = 1/2 room
6 men will build 6 x 1/2 = 3 rooms
Hope this helps :-)

is 4 men can do 2 rooms in a certain amount of time, then 6 men should be able to do 3 rooms in the same amount of time.

4 men for 2 rooms means each room takes 2 men.

add 2 more men then you are adding one more room.

6 men can do 3 rooms in the same amount of time.

you get the ratio 4 is to 2 as 6 is to x, where x represents the number of rooms.

that ratio can be shown as 4/2 = 6/x

cross multiply to get 4x = 12

solve for x to get x = 3
