a real estate agent earns 5% commision on sales up to 200,000 dollars and an additional 2% commission on sales above 200,000 dollars.
how much commision did he earn on a sale of 350,000 dollars. I determined it to be 20,500 dollars, however the textbook said 13,000 dollars.

5% on 200 000 is , 10,000 dollars
he made a sale of 350 000 dollars
150,000 more than 200000
2% on 150 000 = 3000 dollars
10,000 _ 3000 = 13,000 dollars
