Hi there,
George is six years younger than half aidans age.
G = 1/2 A - 6
George's age + Aiden's age = 21
G + A = 21
Replace 'G' with (1/2 A - 6)
1/2 A - 6 + A = 21
Collect like terms:
1/2 A + A = 21 + 6
3/2 A = 27
3A = 2 x 27
A = (2 x 27)/3
A = 18
Aiden is currently 18 years old
George = 1/2 Aiden's age - 6
George is currently 3 years old.
