Here's what I did:
Distance of Catherine(c)=Distance of Max(m)
c=45(t+1)
m=54t
45(t+1)=54t
45t+45=54t
-45t. -45t
45= 9t
T= 5
So the time Max catches up with Catherine should be 1pm?
But I'm worried this might be incorrect

Okay so I have carefully looked at this and i have a feeling it may something to with simultaneous equations. I know that both would fit on a graph at a set gradient but i dont know what figures to use where and therefore cant get to the actual equations yet. Once i work out my equations I am all good with solving the question. Please this is a question I saw on my study sheet so I dont just need the answer but to understand how to do it
