Answer by rothauserc(4718) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let t be the time it takes Tom to walk to the station, then
4*t = d, where d is the distance to the station and
6*(t - ((15/4) * (1/60)))
therefore
4*t = 6*(t - (15/240)
4*t = (6*t) - (6*(3/48))
4*t = (6*t) - (18/48))
2*t = 3/8
t = 3/16 of an hour
4*(3/16) = 3/4 km = .75 km
distance = .75 km
