Question 868838: A policeman cycles 4.2km to work every morning and it takes him 10 minutes to complete the trip. Calculate the average speed in metres per second. Calculate the speed in kilometres per hour to another police station that is twice as far in distance if the trip takes half the time as above.
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4.2 km = 4200 meters
10 minutes = 10*60 = 600 seconds
r=d/t
4200/600
=7 m/s
----
time 10 mins
half the time = 5 minutes
=5/60 =1/12 hours
distance = 4.2*2 = 8.4 km
r=d/t
8.4/(1/12)
=100.8 km/h
