Question 867632: Two trains running on the same route at the rate of 25 and 30 miles per hour.If the first train starts out an hour earlier,how long will it take the second train to catch up with it?
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Train I 25 mph
Train II 30 mph
Difference in time= => 1.00 hour
Train I will have covered 25.00 miles Train II starts
catch up distance= 25.00 miles
catch up speed = 30 -25
catch up speed = 5 mph
Catchup time = catchup distance/catch up speed
catch up time= 5
catch up time= 5.00 hours
